The first experience of outside food and the memories

I was born in Kolkatta and lived there for the 1st 10 years of my life.

I don't remember so much of it but what i do remember brings back smiles with tears.

I remember my mom waking up early to cook as we had a huge family ( we lived in a  joint family)

I remember my father coming home for lunch as his office was just below our building.

I remember the puchka (pani puri), I remember the jhal mudi.

But what i most remember is my 1st meal out..I must have been probably 5 and my parents took my and my sister to this restaurant called amber... It was a different feeling and experience

from a 5 year old perspective being served in style was a huge deal.

My favorite dish of the whole meal was the cream of tomato soup and till date I cant forget the taste of it.

That whole experience with my family was unforgettable. All were so happy. My mother looked relaxed . My dad looked handsome smiling. There was laughter and  happiness on the table.

Kolkatta for me is now only memories.

Like amber...

Than I still cant forget the sky room..they had the best chocolate pastries... the chocolate sponge so soft. the chocolate twirl on the top ...yummy...

Than there was Flurrys and its milk bread till date I haven't found a milk bread that was as good or even close.

That was My 1st experience with a restaurant and the memory attached to it.
